A piper is down!

Over the weekend I went on wee trip by meself to a wee town called Edinburgh! I absolutely loved it!!! It is such a gorgeous city-- I had a really nice time. I stayed with Nadia's sister and boyfriend, which was wonderful. I had never met them before but they had heard about me from Nadia and told her if I ever wanted to visit I could stay with them. They were such nice people and had the cutest 2 year old boy-Nevis! I loovveee Nevis!!! We became best friends quickly. On the first night I was there they took me to Portobello beach and we walked on the board walk. All day on Friday I walked around Edinburgh--saw the castle, (which I'm obsessed with) ate haggis, (which is actually pretty good..but wouldn't eat too much!) went to Mary King's Close--which is this real underground city!!! It wasn't underground at the time... but now-- through events that I don't understand--it's now underground. It was so cool to see. That evening Nadia's sister drove me around a bit and showed me more of the city. In the morning I hiked up this mountain with Andy that overlooked all of Edinburgh. It's amazing how it's such a small city with so much packed in it! I had a really fantastic time, It was really nice staying with them--especially since Andy has lived in Edinburgh his whole life so I was able to ask him all my questions and he could tell me all the history. When I got home I watched Braveheart to really top off the trip! haha-I'm such a dork.

NOW a well traveled and more worldly dork...since you've tried haggis, while in England seek out some blood pudding and the always ubiquitus Marmite{Aussies call it Vegamite}. I love that you're filling your passport with all these new frontiers. Love ya and miss ya LOTS

Yes I've been meaning to try black pudding! (another thing that I've heard has very nasty ingredients) They usually put black pudding in an English Breakfast..which I haven't had too much of. Next on my list to visit is Paris..I'm gonna go around my birthday--my birthday in Paris--ooh la la :)

Oooh la la indeed! You need to look for Pattisserres or high end bakeries around London(my old stomping grounds at Marlybone High St had several)to then see how far superior those in Paris are. I love sweet stuff and the chocolate shops and bakeries in France are mind-blowing!! Since you said you want"to go around your B-day" I wanted to squeeze this idea in before you go....Go enjoy a hearty English breakfast since that's the only meal the Britts can do well
