From the big apple to the valley of the sun!

It's been a while and things have changed! After a week and a half of living at Grannies I decided that the rest of my time should be spent back home in Scottsdale! The reality of the situation is that I'm not going to get my decision back from the consulate this month, so given that I have a few weeks left back in the States, what better place to be than home! :) It's been great, it's a little weird posting this blog from my old room!! Ha, I feel like this isn't really "blog worthy" because, well I'm back at square one. No fun stories of galivanting around the south of france or making cheese in Holland...I'm back, hanging out with the dogs and catching up on my favorite TV shows! It's a good life!!

I'm looking forward to spending downtime here with the fam, seeing good friends and relaxing. If all goes to plan I will be back on a plan to old London town in the beginnig of January. I got a really nice email from the supply teacher that is taking over my class, and she sent a photo of the kids. It got me really excited it get back. I feel good though because school gets out for winter break on Friday, so I won't be feeling like I'm missing out anymore. Now I can just enjoy the Christmas season, in the sunny weather!!! I got so excited about the sun when I got back, it was like I had never seen it before! I was laying out by the pool on the 1st day, people thought I was nuts.

Here are photos of the fabulous evening in NYC when Nadia, my fabulous best friend in London met Elyse, my fabulous best friend since we were 12!

Bloggin in the Big Apple

Back in America! It's great, it's funny how the feeling of home never changes. I thought that it would feel strange coming here, after being away for so long, but it just felt normal immediately. It's so interesting though, being here I'm seeing everything with new eyes. After becoming so used to life in London and how things look, how people talk and spell things. Coming here I notice all the things that make us different, but now in reverse! However in some ways I feel foreign here now. I don't have a proper cell phone, I'm on some stupid pay-as-u-go phone with expensive minutes. A blow dryer and straightener that barely work with the low voltage over here, and no access to my bank account in the UK.

At the moment I don't know where I belong!! I feel out of place here and I'm currently not allowed in London. I am really enjoying my time here at the moment. I love walking around Manhattan checking out the sights, spending time with Elyse, and relaxing at my Grandma's. But at the end of the day I really want to get back to London. I've created a life there! I have a fabulous boyfriend and a wonderful job. I love going to work everyday, I love spending my days with my students. At home I have great flatmates, and always have fun hanging out with them. I've put life on pause to spend time here and I'd like to push the button again to un-pause it! But...I have to wait.

I'm just trying to enjoy the present time! I suppose many people would love to take time away and bum around new york city. My family was here for the first 4 days and that was great. Good to spend time with them, and the rest of the fam here in New York. Nadia was here and I got to meet up with her and Elyse on Sunday night. That was really cool! Having my best friend in London and my best friend since forever together! It was fabulous. Thanksgiving was wonderful and we all had a really good time!

So now I'm just playing the waiting game and having fun in the meantime! Going into the city during the day, and relaxing with Granny in the evening! It's a good life :)
