Sometimes you just have to pull the fire alarm...

On Friday I was at a school in Islington in a Year 1 class. I am brought to the classroom and am given a timetable of the day by one of the teachers. He's writing on the whiteboard and explaining "Ok so playtime is at 10:30, lunch is at 12:15, you pick the kids up at 1:30... etc" then he says "So yeah, there's no planning done so just do whatever you want to do!" This was the first time I had been given no plan whatsoever. So I had about 15 minutes to pull together an hours worth of stuff to get me to playtime! I spent that 15 minutes looking around the room to see if I can get previous work samples or anything to see what they've been doing so I can think of where to go next? Then this teacher walks up to me and says "Ok it's time to let the kids in, go and open that door." I walk over and the door doesn't open, which isn't much of a surprise every door in London has some kind of hoop to have to jump through to get it open..there's always a button or something you have to push to release door here. I figure this door is like the rest, so in haste I push this red box RIGHT NEXT to the handle. The moment I pushed it, I knew exactly what I had done. The box broke through and then started flashing red...then a loud fire alarm blasts through the school!! OMG. I walk next door and the teachers have these flustered/confused looks on their faces and the kids are screaming "Fire! There's a fire!" I walk in and say "Sorry that was me.." Then we all walk outside, THE WHOLE SCHOOL, and stand out there until the alarm stops. I'm mouthing "I'm sorry" to every teacher that's near me. I stood there looking around saying to myself "Everyone is out here because of me, I've only been here 15 minutes!" After I stopped feeling embarrassed-- I realised that was the best thing I could have done! That totally bought me more time to think of what to do, and it killed some time! Hahaha. In the end, the day was really good--the kids were great!

On Sunday I got tickets to the Globe Theatre to see Romeo and Juliet!! It was so amazing! I got tickets for the yard, which is the standing area right in front of the stage. I love the Globe. We got a great view, and the actors were amazing! Even though I was standing for a 3 hour long show, I didn't mind a bit! I forgot how much I love that play, and how much I love Mercutio. I always tend to have a crush on whoever plays Mercutio. I think I'm gonna get tickets to see A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This is a random picture I just threw in. This is my bedroom...fab huh? There's really no need to take photos from other angles...you're getting the complete effect right here. The only thing you can't see is my wardrobe that is behind the door that's right when you walk in on the right side. I love my room! :) It's affectionately known as "Cell Block B" no, not really..I just made that up now...but it does have a lot in common with a jail cell! But it's the best --because it's all mine!

You should contact Amnesty International or some other prisoner rights group...Terrorists in Gitmo have better rooms- but you have a way better wardrobe. Yet if they want to fit you for legirons or an orange jumpsuit .....Great Job in making it to The Globe, you've now seen "the room" that the BARD wrote his plays to be performed in.Learning is growing and travel just makes it happen in a really fun way - Keep having FUN love ya,DAD
